Assessing Visual Function - Overview

When assessing visual function and the impact of AMD, visual acuity should not be the only measurement component. Other measurement components that should be documented, together with visual acuity, are contrast sensitivity, usable visual field and scotomas, and the patient's level of activity, including quality of life.
